Oh it is warm in New York City this weekend but it’s not pool weather. So, I’m fantasizing about getting away to someplace exotic and tropical like this baker’s dozen of aquatic perfection. Hard to say which one is the best, the Marden Palace in Turkey is pretty spectacular. I’d imagine it’s the one you’re in front of. The liquid version of the old saying,

“Love the one you’re with.”

I met Jack Early decades ago when he was part of the art duo Pruitt-Early. He split with Rob Pruitt who is an art star on his own and stopped making work but he’s been back in the last several years with some powerful new work. His latest show just opened at New York’s Fergus McCaffrey gallery. He was born in Raleigh, North Carolina and his current work goes back to the early days with a focus on his own storytelling. Early has an eye for icons, both old and new and a fascination with popular culture of his period. Most of the large scale works are painted on canvas that were silk screened with a reworking an old photo of his childhood bedroom. (He altered it slightly by have the toy soldiers hold hands.) There are photo-realist paintings of Popsicles, breakfast cereal, and gay porn with freestanding sculptures of family members and household objects, backed with the same wallpaper design on bean bags.

I had a chat with Jack about his early years and growing up gay in the south.

So, were you ever bullied in our out of school?
I was bullied once but not because I was gay but because I was cute. I tell it on my life story recording. But I was super-aware all the time as a kid that the bullying thing could happen. I was so aware of it in fact that I think I became a master of keeping it at bay. I knew what acting fem looked like and I was, or so I thought, super careful not to act that way. I don’t think people had great gaydar back then, even I didn’t really know what gay was.

I skipped school, smoked cigarettes, threw rocks, started fires – that gave me some clout as to not get bullied. I was never outed. I had friends on both sides of the fence, the really bright kids liked me but so did the tough bad kids.

Did your parents know…?
Well, I was very careful for my parents not to catch me watching ‘The Odd Couple’ and I tried to casually leave the room when Gay marches were on the news and my parents were watching TV. It made me a loner in a lot of ways. I’d rather be shut in my room, than have to hear a comment about gays… my dad had a book and there was a chapter about homosexuals sticking light bulbs up their asses. It was hateful really. I saw it mostly as gay porn but it was also traumatizing.

>When did you have your first gay experience?
…I stole ‘Looking Good’ from the bookstore. I learned later Bruce Weber took the pics… it was like the fist thing I jerked off to. Funny, years later I dated one of the models.

My first sex was with girls. It was hard for me. So, I had sex for the first time with this weird guy that played the organ. I was like, 18, 19…

Anyway, I was grasping to know what gay was… I finally figured that the men that owned Flowers of Henry (a hometown florist) were. So, I had fantasies of them on the table that they made bouquets on.

I did have a crush on David LaChapelle. We were at NCSA high school together and I fell in love with him. He liked me too, but he was so worldly, even in high school. He had lived in New York. I didn’t even know what a bagel was.

So, no one called you fag?
I learned early on that people were nice, but if you got into it they could say some really awful things about gays and blacks. I knew that very well. We had a cook who was my second mother. She was a friend. We knew this truth together and we loved each other and looked after each other. She was black I was a gay boy. We had a unpoken understanding for each other and we knew we both were navigating in a world that was not really built for us.

Does she figure into this show in any work?
She gave me a lot of faith in how to love the people that just did not know any better. She is in my life story in the show…

Saturday’s incident is being fully investigated, as there are misreports about what took place. Webster Hall’s staff do NOT carry tasers and are not armed. They carry strobe flashlights. The safety of all guests is always our primary focus.

This incident involved artist and artist management, which required Webster Hall staff to intervene. The parties responsible for the incident then continued to escalate the situation.

Webster Hall’s staff do not carry tasers or weapons of any kind. References to alleged weapons are false. While the incident is of course unfortunate, we are fortunate that no serious injuries were actually reported. An investigation of the incident and the people involved is ongoing. Anyone found to be involved in any wrongdoing will be dealt with immediately.

… which – I don’t know – seems like they aren’t taking any responsibility. I mean: There’s a video of one of YOUR security guard kicking the artist in the head!! How you gonna say “safety is your primary focus”?

Meanwhile, if you aren’t familiar with Skate, he’s kind of the Zac Efron of rap. Or maybe the lovechild of Zac and Casey Affleck. He’s purty, is what I’m trying to say. Real purty. Let’s examine the evidence.

Why did you choose this Beyonce track to remix?

I chose this track because one, it was just a hit and deserves a flip…secondly, the song stood for something to be, and just praising the color of my skin. And while so many people are hating Beyoncé right now, I’m sucking it in and spitting it back out… my way!

How did you get it done so fast?

I got it done within a week! Like as soon as it dropped, I was on it, and it’s not like that for many tracks I make which can take up to two years. It had an easy flow for me.

What’s your sound?

Just some exciting, bass driven, minimal and direct beats that still give you a feeling inside.

What are you working on now?

I just finished scoring the KiKi film…we’re promoting that now heavy. My label Qween Beat‘s first compilation is due out soon and then I’m headed right back into the studios to work on more solo material and a few remixes/production for artists.

In New York City, LGBTQ youth-of-color gather out on the Christopher Street Pier, practicing a performance-based art form, Ballroom, which was made famous in the early 1990s by Madonna’s music video “Vogue” and the documentary “Paris Is Burning.” Twenty-five years after these cultural touchstones, a new and very different generation of LGBTQ youth have formed an artistic activist subculture, named the Kiki Scene.

KIKI follows seven characters from the Kiki community over the course of three years, using their preparations and spectacular performances at events known as Kiki balls as a framing device while delving into their battles with homelessness, illness and prejudice as well as their gains towards political influence and the conquering of affirming gender-expressions. In KIKI we meet Twiggy Pucci Garçon, the founder and gatekeeper for the Haus of Pucci, Chi Chi, Gia, Chris, Divo, Symba and Zariya. Each of these remarkable young people represents a unique and powerful personal story, illuminating the Kiki scene in particular, as well as queer life in the U.S. for LGBTQ youth-of-color as a whole.

Adam had been trying to catch a glimpse of the D for quite some time, too.

Speaking to Daily Mail Australia, 32-year-old Adam revealed he glimpsed Zac’s package after working with him on Comedy Central’s Workaholics. “In that scene we do, we kept trying to see Zac Efron’s d**k,” Adam explained of working with Zac and Seth Rogen on Workaholics back in 2014 to help promote the duo’s film Bad Neighbours.

In April 2014 Zac and Seth appeared in a profanity-laced skit for Workaholics, which instantly became an internet sensation.

While competing for a job interview, both Seth and Zac tried to outdo each other, even showing off their private parts to impress their three potential bosses, played by Blake, Adam and Anders.

TMZ is reporting that the voice behind the “Damn, Daniel” video was pranked yesterday when cops were called to his Riverside home to investigate a possible homicide.

Law enforcement tells TMZ they responded to a call around 1 AM to the Riverside, CA home after the caller said a boy had shot his mom in the head with an AK-47. However, it all turned out to be a hoax … officers cleared the scene and determined no one at the house was involved.

There are no suspects at this time.

In the meantime, the “Damn Daniel” video has racked more than 300k retweets and 390k favorites. And if you STILL have no idea who or what I’m talking about, here is your introduction to the most famous person in the world right now.

So, when I first caught a glimpse of Thorgy Thor last night, I did do a double-take. I thought for a second it was Sweetie, the NYC drag legend, but she was just paying homage. I told her what I thought and she laughed and said,

“YOU clocked it.“

Everyone was floored by her transformation, but it REALLY must have confused some of the reporters.

You know, I write for The Wow Report on a daily basis, and I know the World of Wonder folks for years –I’m taking DECADES– but I don’t know beans about the goings on of Drag Race, ahead of the show. They tell me NOTHING! – which is good so I can say what I want, without fear of giving anything away. I’m like you –just along for the ride, giving my 2 cents, whether anybody asks or not.

Now, it’s a press event, so the girls are going to be killing it with fierce looks and one their BEST behavior for reporters, but I will say this, they were all super-nice, professional, funny and tons of fun. I got a chance to talk to all of them a little bit. A few seemed a bit nervous, but once Ruben got them aside to take pictures, they all turned it on for the camera. Sparkle Neely! I’m predicting that this is going to be a FUN ride this season, but again –what do I know…?

When it came time for the crowd downstairs to meet the girls they were all READY for it. Bianca DID change into a flowy, caftan, which seemed to be decorated with her own face (who else) and she gave the crowd lots of shit –natch, teasing them all night. At one point saying that once you’ve been ON the show, THEN you can talk about it with real authority and give advice…

“I hear from queens all the time, ‘I’ve watched every single season and episode of Drag Race, which makes me an EXPERT!’

No, honey. That makes you a VIEW-ER!‘”

Well, we know who’s opinion counts, now. MINE! No, YOURS! That’s the fun of the show, everyone gets to say what they want about ANYTHING they want. Just be careful what you say to Bianca!

The performances were all pretty incredible. A few stood out for me –and the crowd, by their reactions. Acid Betty was up first and got spray painted during her number. Bob the Drag Queen was lipsyncing to Patti LaBelle‘s Over the Rainbow in a black dress and when she reached the climax of the song, she twirled it into a floor-length rainbow chiffon gown… I thought the crowd was going to lose their damn minds! You never heard such screaming! One of the best onstage transformations I’ve ever seen. EVER.

Thorgy Thor closed the show, which was a transformation of sorts too, revealing her inner flashdance under all that earlier padding. Vegas’s Derrick Barry did a FLAWLESS Britney. I can already hear the other girls saying,

“Does she do anything else?!“

We’ll find out won’t we? The crowd was gagging for Kim Chi‘s chiffon night gown look and Robbie Turner is looking like this season’s Jinx Monsoon, if you want to play that game of who is like whom. Robbie came out in old lady waitress drag to which she peeled down to sequins and saggy boobies. Laila McQueen was the goth girl of the night, and when I say girl –I mean GURL, the BODY! Naomi Smalls is NOT small, she’s 12 feet tall, with legs for days. Cynthia Lee Fontaine is cute, sweet, bubbly and talented and had all the reporters eating out of her hand. Some of the numbers went on too long, but the crowd did NOT seem to mind at all. Bianca introduced a clip of RuPaul’s new show, Gay For Pay, with sarcasm and bitchiness, which we know comes from love… right? She hinted to me backstage that she is talking with World of Wonder about developing her own show…

“They’re finally doing a show RuPaul ISN’T in!“

Well, we’ll watch ANYTHING Mama Ru is in, you know and, duh –it’s a no-brainer –we’d all watch anything Bianca is in too.

We got a sneak peek of the premiere, which you may have heard is the 100th episode of RuPaul’s Drag Race. Timing! And Ru tells Derrick Barry that she is the 100th queen to walk though those doors. Timing! Well, they didn’t show us THAT much, but I will tell you the gaggy-est part. The first challenge is a photo shoot with Mathu Anderson with all 7 of the winners of RPDR! The new girls pose off with the Drag Race veterans and some sparks FLY! I’ll leave it at that. Can. Not. Wait. RuPaul’s Drag Race premieres on Monday, March 7 at 10PM, EST on Logo.

Two wackadoodle theories making the rounds lately. The first is that 6-year-old beauty queen JonBenet Ramsey was never really murdered in her Boulder Colorado home as reported, she actually survived and grew up to become kooky, wide-eyed pop star Katy Perry. The second is that Evangelical nut job/Presidential hopeful Ted Cruz is a actually the notorious Zodiac Killer. Both theories are totes believable.

Famous conspiracy theorist Dave Johnson posted a 7-minute video on YouTube in 2014 that claimed pop star Katy Perry is none other than JonBenet Ramsey, the child beauty pageant star who was murdered 20 years ago. The video is making its way around the Internet once again, resurfacing the thought that the “Roar” singer really is a grown up version of the young girl. Ramsey didn’t die, Johnson claims, she just sacrificed her name for fame.

Johnson notes that when a photo of Perry is placed over a picture of Ramsey, they look identical. He also claims Perry’s parents, Keith Hudson and Mary Perry, are in fact Ramsey’s parents, only thinner. (Note: Patsey Ramsey died of ovarian cancer in 2006.).

The decades-long case of the notorious serial murderer known as the Zodiac Killer — who killed up to 37 people  in Northern Calidornia in the ’60s and ’70s –is still open to this day. At the height of his lethal spree, he even taunted police with perplexing letters and cryptograms, but he was never identified. Online speculation is running rampant, though, that it the killer is in fact the uber-creepy Persidential candidate Ted Cruz.
