RuPaul Talks About Loving Yourself, Clearing Out the Emotional Baggage & MORE in Inspiring Keynote Speech

Ru held us in his spellbinding grip during the final moments of DragCon 17, when he spoke movingly to the attendees of his keynote speech about what he really means when he says “If you can’t love yourself, how in the hell are you gonna love somebody else.”

Sometimes the story we tell ourselves becomes our own worst enemy.

“You are an extension of the power that created the whole universe,” he said. “The only thing keeping you from that is you playing small.”

He added that it was important to understand “that you being here is not an accident.”

“You are here to experience life and humanity, and that is the joy of life. That is what loving yourself is—understanding what your purpose is; what your own unique voice is.”

Then he dropped the bombshells that DragCon is heading to New York on September 30 and October 1.
