Yep, Things Are Gonna Get Political at Gaga’s Super Bowl Performance

Gaga gave a press conference today about her upcoming Super Bowl halftime performance, and while she was vague about the specifics, she intimated that shit was about to get political.

“The only statements that I’ll be making during the halftime show are the ones that I’ve been consistently making throughout my career,” she said. “I believe in a passion for inclusion. I believe in the spirit of equality, and that the spirit of this country is one of love and compassion and kindness. My performance will uphold those philosophies.”

The singer didn’t give any hints as to how her set will convey those messages, but insisted that the performance is “for everyone.”

“I want to, more than anything, create a moment that everyone that’s watching will never forget,” she said.

I’ll bet. Cue the throngs of Republicans bitching “Keep your libtard snowflake politics out of sports!” and the like.

And while she originally said she would be taking the stage alone, we now know that Tony Bennett will toddle onstage for a quickie duet, and… just possibly….. BEYONCÉ? O.M.Goddess.
