You remember Alex Newell. He played the trans character Unique on Glee. Well, he’s out with a great new dance track “This Ain’t Over” and it has HIT written all over it.
Spin magazine went into absolute paroxysms of bliss over the single, calling Alex “phenomenal” …and a “powerhouse”… who “exudes screeching soul”… with an “unassailable voice”… and who’s “euphoric new single” “shines out like a triumphant beacon over a thumping, glamorous dance-pop soundscape.”
WELL.
With a buildup like that, I don’t see how you can pass it up. Listen to the song below. (The blacklight video is giving me definite Rocky Horror vibes. Or maybe Samuel Beckett’s “Not I”. Whatever the influence, I lovelovelove it)

Big Beat recording artist Alex Newell has announced the release of his much-anticipated debut EP. “POWER” arrives at all DSPs on Friday, February 19th. “POWER” is preceded by the extraordinary new track, “This Ain’t Over,” which premiered yesterday, January 14th, via SPIN.com.
