Are you in the mood to shop on Black Friday? Well, Julien’s Auctions has got the The Collection of Dame Joan Collins, what they describe as…
“…an exquisite and extraordinary collection of jewelry, fashion, decorative arts, and personal items that define glamour and luxury. Joan Collins is an actress, best-selling author, accomplished producer, and a successful entrepreneur.”
…but I would just call DRAG HEAVEN! Gowns, furs, (fake) jewelry, shoes, bags, sketches by Dynasty designer, Nolan Miller. Other highlights include vintage Louis Vuitton steamer trunks, a 1961 beaded event worn couture dress, the dress she wore to her investiture when she was made a Dame by Queen Elizabeth II and a custom made white fox and mink cape designed by furrier Edward Lowell.
If you wonder why she’s cleaning out her closets, no reason is given. One assumes it’s not for the money. Anyway, have a look here. Estimates range from a few hundred for the costume jewelry, many hundreds for the clothes and into the mutiple-thousands for gowns, furs and those Vuitton trunks. If you’re in L.A., swing by and have a look at Julien’s Auctions.
