RuPaul’s DragCon 2016 is fast-approaching! May 7th and 8th! DO YOU HAVE YOUR TICKETS YET?
Dozens of wowlebrities have already been confirmed to appear – with more than 40 amazing panels and live recordings with WOW Presents wowlebrities…. First and foremost among them, is of course, MAMA RU herself! Yes the Queen of All Media will be delivering the keynote address on May 8th and, trust me, it’s going to be UTTER MADNESS! She’s always SO INSPIRING! Now, of course, I know I don’t need to tell YOU about Ru, you’re her biggest fan. But, for fun, let’s just quickly bulletpoint her life and achievements:
- Born & raised in San Diego, Calif. Moved to Atlanta, Ga. at 15.
- Studied theatre at North Atlanta School of Performing Arts.
- Lead singer of rock band “Wee Wee Pole” before moving to NYC mid-eighties.
- Was crowned “The Queen Of Manhattan” 1989.
- Achieved international fame with hit song “Supermodel (You Better Work).”
- 1st feature film was Spike Lee’s “Crooklyn.” Has acted in over 50 films & TV sitcoms.
- Recorded a duet with Sir Elton John that reached #7 on the UK charts.
- Awarded a 7 year contract as “the first face of M.A.C Cosmetics.”
- Filmed 100 episodes of TV talker “The RuPaul Show” on VH1.
- NYC morning radio veteran. Currently hosts podcast “What’s The Tee? w/Michelle Visage.”
- Has written books “Workin’ It” & “Lettin’ It All Hang Out.”
- Singer/Songwriter of 11 solo albums including the latest “Realness.”
- Wax portraits of RuPaul are displayed at Madame Tussaud’s Museum in both NYC & San Francisco.
- Merchandising includes dolls, apparel, cosmetics, fragrance, chocolate & a video game.
- Executive Producer of the global phenomenon “RuPaul’s Drag Race.“
- Splits time between NYC and LA.

Imagine, Create and Inspire! Don’t Dream It…….Be it!” That’s the mantra Alyssa Edwards has lived by, and it has served her well. After working the pageant circuit, this fierce queen from season five of RuPaul’s Drag Race has taken the world by storm and can be found gigging in venues everywhere with her Haus of Edwards family, Shangela, Laganja Estranja, and Vivienne Pinay.
In addition to touring, Alyssa is an accomplished dancer and choreographer who oversees the Beyond Belief Dance Company.
And, omgomgomg, Jade Jolie will be there too. Can you imagine ANYTHING more fabulous?
This animated entertainer has grown in her art form since her appearance on RuPaul’s Drag Race, and she has become much more than rainbows and Lisa Frank these days. You can catch her as part of the cast at Play Louisville, one of the top rated and best up and coming drag bars on the scene that brings in many of the Drag Race alumni regularly. You might also catch her “Shaking It Off” and “Swift’n” around as a premiere Taylor Swift illusionist! <3
