Precious Prophet Jayden Smith Breaks Down What It Means to be a Misfit

I’m kind of insisting that you watch this video of homeschooled intellectual Jayden Smith riffing on what it means to be a misfit for the company MSFTSrep. He’s pretty mesmerizing. And while you always just sort of want to put your foot in his face because PRIVILEGE and PRATTLING PSUEDO-INTELLECTUALISM and MANIC DILETTANTISM, he somehow manages to hook and reel you in like a modern-day Aimee Semple McPherson. The boy can PREACH. And, by the end you kind of just want to hug him and say “you be you, honey.”

Says Jayden:

You know to me, being a misfit is like I’m not going to conform to society, I’m going to be a divergent thinker, somebody who thinks of multiple solutions to one problem  and I’m gonna design my own clothes, you know what I’m sayin? I’m gonna make my own music. I don’t like the music that I’m hearing, ’cause all it’stalking about is hoes and clothes and money so I’m gonna make my own music. I don’t like the clothes that I see because they all small and stuff, kind of like the old misfits clothes were all hella small because I was not aware of what I was doing…  but misfits is to me somebody that can make the life they want for themselves. And DO what they want for themselves. And be their own person by CREATING. And your being your own person not by being a part of this or doing that but by being part of a collective that knows they support you and it’s like we’re OK with you being an individual and we will never look at you weird. The misfits is a collective but on an individual level I’m going to create what I want.

And that’s just the first 30 seconds. Once he starts, there’s no slowing this teen oracle down. He has a VISION to impart to you, and YOU NEED TO HEAR IT.

The real jewel of this video, though, is the man behind the camera acting like he’s listening to Jesus on the mount. “Yes! Yes!” he screams passionately and makes little *mind blown* sounds every couple of minutes, agreeing with every priceless nugget of wisdom Jayden imparts. He’s like Ed McMahon on the old Tonight Show: “You are CORRECT, sir!”  and loudly guffaws to every joke. Also, please note the ambient quasi-religious new age music steadily rising in the background, giving Jayden’s musings an air of divine providence.

The YouTube commenters are pretty hilarious, as one might imagine. My favorite: “This is very similar to Kabuto’s speech in the 4 Shinobi war.”
