Jacqueline Poirier, a waitress/artist in residence at The Ritz-Carlton in Toronto, paints food, dogs, people and a host of other things onto plates at TOCA, the hotel’s restaurant. To be honest, she’s not the best painter and the images are far from “photo-realism” but because she leaves so much plate showing, she let’s you in on the visual pun and when seen together, they kinda “work”. She’s gained quite an Instagram following and you can follow along here @thecrazyplatelady, on her website (where you can buy one for just $100) or if you’re in Toronto, you can see them in person at The Ritz Carlton.
