San Francisco dance music duo Double Duchess (Krylon Superstar/ DavO) take trap-house to a qwerrk level with their cover of Grace Jones’ 1980 downtempo single Bullshit, from her Warm Leatherette album. It’s probably not one of Jones’ most known tracks, but it definitely signified the angst she was feeling musically, transitioning from a disco dolly, and tapping into her artistic side, mixing rock, reggae and new wave styles. “Krylon wanted to do a cover of Grace Jones, due to her inspiration in the fashion and club worlds”, says producer DavO. This release coincides with the forthcoming Grace Jones documentary, and the one-year anniversary of Brooklyn-based indie label CSCN. (via The Wild Magazine)
