Honeymoon in Vegas, starring Tony Danza just opened to rave reviews on Broadway:
“As embodied by the bright and bouncy new musical “Honeymoon in Vegas,” … the world capital of gambling and neon is everything you want it to be. That means a little hip, a little square, a little dangerous, a little kitschy and a whole lotta delicioussh fun. (Oh dear, am I slurring? Sorry.) But here’s the bonus… a smooth-as-Ultrasuede star turn by Tony Danza, this show offers the perfect sunny holiday for frozen Eastern city dwellers.” – Ben Brantley, The New York Times
And the cast and creators of Taxi reunited in support of Mr. Danza. All of these guys should look pretty familiar; Rhea Perlman, Christopher Lloyd, Danny, Devito, Marilu Henner, Carol Kane, Judd Hirsch… except for maybe the two guys with grey beards. The third from the left is the great producer/ director, James Burrows, who recently cameoed on The Comeback, and has more hits that you can count including Taxi, Cheers, Will & Grace, just to name a few. The other bearded guy on the far left, James L. Brooks wrote and directed Terms of Endearment, Broadcast News, and As Good as It Gets. He also created Taxi along with The Mary Tyler Moore Show and produced The Tracy Ullman Show where this little cartoon had it’s debut. Heard of it? The Simpsons. That idea to include Matt Groening‘s doodles was a masterstroke. It made Brooks a rich man. Now both Burrows and Brooks are worth $500 million. Each. (So is Groening.) And that’s show biz, folks!
