Former Saturday Night Live cast member, Jan Hooks, died today. She was 57. No cause yet but it’s been reported “she was battling a serious illness”. Jan was on SNL from 1986-91 along with the late Chris Farley & Phil Hartman, Mike Myers, Dana Carvey and Dennis Miller, most famous for being half of the Sweeney Sisters and also for her impressions of Sinead O’Connor. She was fantastic in a recurring roll 30 Rock as Jenna’s white trash Mom, Verna. Jan was also on Designing Women and she was nominated for an Emmy in 1998 for a role on 3rd Rock from the Sun.
