Speaking of Cecil Beaton, I picked up a marvelous tip for posing for selfies from his diaries. Check it out after the jump!
Whether you’re posing for formal portraits or posing for selfies, do as the Edwardian stage actress Gabrielle Ray did: Have your two assistants stand on either side of you, holding a silk thread under your nose, tip-tilting it upwards just the right amount when the flash goes off. No more droopy snout for you! (t/y Cecil Beaton)
